Trident
Weapon Stack: 1 Since 1.13 (Update Aquatic)
Quick answer: Dropped only by drowned holding a trident - never craftable.
How to get it
- Dropped only by drowned holding a trident - never craftable
- Java: 6.25% of drowned spawn with one, 8.5% drop chance (+1% per Looting level)
- Bedrock: 15% of drowned spawn with one, 25% drop chance (+4% per Looting level)
- Drowned farms (river or converted zombie designs) are the practical source
Uses
- Melee (9 damage) and throwable weapon - it comes back with Loyalty
- Exclusive enchantments: Loyalty (returns), Channeling (summons lightning in thunderstorms), Riptide (launches you in water/rain), Impaling (bonus damage vs aquatic mobs)
- Riptide tridents are the fastest pre-elytra travel in rain
Renewability
Renewable via drowned farms; repair by combining two tridents or with Mending.
Java vs Bedrock
Drop rates are much better in Bedrock (25% vs 8.5% base). Impaling also differs: in Bedrock it damages any mob touching water or standing in rain; in Java it only affects aquatic mobs.
