Uses
- Hold it in either hand: when you would die, it is consumed instead, restoring you to 1 heart with status effects
- Java Edition: Regeneration II for 45s, Fire Resistance I for 40s and Absorption I for 5s. Bedrock Edition: Regeneration II for 30s and Absorption for 5s
- Only works while held - totems in your inventory or ender chest do nothing
Renewability
Renewable via raid farms; technically unlimited.
Java vs Bedrock
Effect durations differ: Regeneration II lasts 45s in Java and 30s in Bedrock. The void kills you in both editions - a totem does not save you from /kill or void damage below the world.
